John Seip Shimer and his Decendants

John Seip Shimer (April 4, 1764) is the youngest child of Jacob Shimer and Rosina Seip. He married Salome Van Buskirk, daughter of the Reverend Jacob Van Buskirk and Anna Hollenbach.

John Seip Shimer's children were:

Mary Shimer Grim (April 1, 1791 - July 13, 1869)
Nathan Shimer (August 30, 1793 - April 1, 1812)
Jacob B. Shimer (October 30, 1795 - January 22, 1882)
Elizabeth Shimer Apple (March 25, 1797 - January 7, 1835)
John B. Shimer (March 7, 1801 - November 21, 1880)
Charles B. Shimer* (June 27, 1802 - August 24, 1880)
Frederick August B. Shimer (June 27, 1810 - March 16, 1881)

  1. This is such great stuff! I became totally addicted to this research on ancestry.com, but it was too expensive and also a major time drain. It's interesting also, how much the details vary. For instance, I have Rosina Seip's husband's name as Edward, not Jacob. And my data shows Edward/Jacob lived to be 79, quite a bit longer than the 30 years the article states. If he only lived 30 years, my descendant in the family wouldn't have been born. It did just occur to me, however, that Rosina could have married Edward after Jacob died. Wouldn't be the first time a man married his brother's widow!

  2. Oy! fantastic! My relation is to related to Fredrick and Mary Magdelane Bach Schimer. (Down the line to son Fredrick's son John married Emily DUSSEAUX who's daughter Harriett Shimer married Henry Crigamire who's daughter Josephine married William Gamble who is my great,great,great grandfather! I'm very much would love more information regarding DUSSEAUX but am loving learning this side of my new family as well.
